Frogs $4.00 per student
For years 4-6
This workshop looks at three aspects of the lives of frogs: calling and finding a mate, life and death in a frog's world and frog body design. It involves the use of live animals, role play, sound recordings and observation.

Renewable Energy $5.50 per student
For years 3-6
A hands-on scientific workshop focusing on renewable energy sources including solar and wind. Students will engage in activities using hand-held solar panels, wind turbines, volt meters and model cars to better understand the nature of utilizing renewable energy sources.

Monsters Beneath our Feet $8.80 per student
For years 3-6
Come face-to-face with mini monsters living in your backyard! Catch kreepy-krawlies amongst the scrub and get as close as you dare to the fangs of a spider. Then create your own dichotomous key to work out what critters you have caught and build a food web to see who eats who. You can even see this food web in live action!

Electric Circuits and Electronics $8.00 per student
For years 4-6
Students are introduced to conductors and insulators and open and closed circuits, then work to build working electronic circuits using resistors, capacitors and transistors. Series and parallel circuits are discussed in the context of circuits for flashing lights, police sirens and even a working radio!

An interactive hands-on workshop that demonstrates how robots really work. Using the brand new NXT system, students complete a series of challenges that incorporate the use of environmental sensors and basic programming.

Each student will carry out a series of fun experiments relating to the Physical Phenomena and Living Things strands of the syllabus and concentrating on flight. All students will be involved in all the experiments and they get to take home some cool stuff!

What's in your backyard? This interactive presentation will use museum specimens and live animals to explore the wonderful world of minibeasts.
